Acocks Green teenager, 19, fatally stabbed in Birmingham home 

Chris Ikouara, 19, was tragically killed in a stabbing at a property on Olton Boulevard East, Acocks Green, yesterday afternoon. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 2pm on 13 January. 

Police have launched a murder investigation and are appealing to the public for information to help identify those responsible. Detective Superintendent Jim Munro, from the Homicide team, said officers have been working overnight and following multiple lines of inquiry. He urged anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward. 

Chris’s family, supported by specialist officers, released a heartfelt tribute describing him as “kind, caring and deeply cherished.” They said he was known for his humour, caring nature, and for always looking out for the people he loved. “His cheeky smile and goofy laugh will be missed,” the family added. 

A scene remains in place at the property while detectives continue their investigation. Local officers are also conducting reassurance patrols in the community. 

Police have asked residents to share any dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the incident to aid their inquiries.
